New Metallica T-Shirts Hit SugarBullets!

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

Long live Metal!! Why do we say that? Well, it’s no surprise to hear that music can be seen by many as a lot like fashion…bear with us….much like clothing, tastes change, popularity of things come and go and many are left in the wake looking to either adapt of die. Not in the case of Metal!

Nope in fact the love for the genre has done nothing but grow and grow with each passing year and fans become more and more enveloped in the whole scene and sounds. With the styles and sounds (much unlike the 80s hair styles) never really wavering, it seems metal has attracted just the right kind of very loyal and very dedicated fans who will stick with it through think and thin just for the passion. WE SALUTE YOU!

To show our appreciation for one of the biggest and best metal bands ever Metallica, we’ve just got our hands on these amazing classic Metallica T-Shirts that are perfect for all you awesome fans out there. Take a look…..

The Greatest Heavy Metal Albums EVER – Results!

Sunday, September 23rd, 2012

10. Metallica – ‘Ride the Lightning’
Metallica’s second LP proved to the world they weren’t just a flash in the pan. Coming a few years before Metallica gained real mainstream popularity, Ride the Lightning was a crucial step forward in their evolution.

9. Led Zeppelin – ‘Led Zeppelin II’
Led Zeppelin‘s second album was recorded during the group’s first year on the road. It’s the sound of a band coming together as a unit and developing their own style. On days off they’d set up shop at a local studio, and then pack everything up and start again when they had time. It’s a very tough way to make an album, yet the disc sounds totally cohesive.

8. Metallica – ‘Metallica’ (The Black Album)
Few in the industry (or even the band) could have imagined just how popular Metallica would become. “Enter Sandman” went into heavy rotation on MTV, and suddenly it was no longer just the metal kids at school blasting Metallica in the car parks.

7. Guns N’ Roses – ‘Appetite for Destruction’
There’s no doubt that Guns N Roses‘ Appetite for Destruction is one of the greatest debut albums in rock history. There’s no doubt people will still be listening to “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine” in 100 years. The album is so perfect it should be on as many “all time greatest” lists as it possibly can.

6. Slayer – ‘Reign In Blood’
Reign In Blood sold a huge amount of records back in 1986, and it established Slayer as giants in the world of metal. Three decades later they have yet to slow down or compromise in any way.

5. Metallica – ‘. . . And Justice for All’
This was their first time cutting a new album since the tragic death of bassist Cliff Burton in 1986, and the first time they were open to the idea of promoting an album with a music video. The songs on the album are all extremely long; many have been rarely played in the past decade.

4. Iron Maiden – ‘The Number of the Beast’
Iron Maiden‘s third disc, The Number of the Beast, is where the group found their voice. Literally. Before they began recording the 1982 classic, they booted singer Paul Di’Anno in favor of Bruce Dickinson. The group only grew in popularity from here, but they never quite reached this level of sheer perfection.

3. Black Sabbath – ‘Black Sabbath’
Black Sabbath‘s 1969 debut LP is the Big Bang of heavy metal. It’s impossible to imagine how the genre would have evolved without it! The disc was recorded in a single day at a London studio, and in stores just three months later. Much to their surprise, it found a huge audience.

2. Black Sabbath – ‘Paranoid’
Just a few months after the release of their self-titled debut, Black Sabbath went back into the studio to begin their second LP. This time around they had an even more stunning arsenal of songs, including “War Pigs,” “Paranoid,” “Iron Man” and “Fairies Wear Boots.” The song ‘Paranoid’ only reached Number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it’s been played on the radio about ten billion times since, and in many ways has become their signature song. No matter how much success they had after Paranoid, the songs on this disc have always been at the center of their live set list.

1. Metallica – ‘Master of Puppets’

Metallica‘s 1986 LP Master of Puppets blew the competition completely out of the water. It’s no big surprise. The disc captured Metallica at the height of their powers. Though it’s amonumental disc, it took a few years for critics to fully appreciate it. Metallica played the album straight through on a European tour in 2006 to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Array of Rock Legends to Appear on Deep Purple Tribute

Friday, August 10th, 2012

Rock metal giants Metallica, Iron Maiden and The Flaming Lips have all signed up to contribute tracks to a new Deep Purple tribute album!

Titled ‘Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head’, this album will pay homage to Deep Purples sixth studio album ‘Machine Head’ and will feature a dream team of artists and bands. This classic album originally reached the number 1 spot in the United Kingdom (#7 US)  and stayed in the top 40 for a whopping 20 weeks!

Inspired by real-life events in Montreux, Switzerland, Deep Purple were recording the album when the Montreux Casino was burned to the ground during a Frank Zappa concert! Containing some of the best rock riffs known to man (such as Smoke On The Water) as well as some of the best vocals of a generation from frontman Ian Gillan, its little wonder how a tribute recording can pull in such big names!

As well as this, a series of one-off collaborators will join forces to record some of the tracks. Some of the names set to take part include the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ stickman Chad Smith, ex-Guns N’ Roses men Matt Sorum and Duff MacKagan, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and Steve Vai. Amazing of what!

Check out the full tracklist below and see just who will be playing what:

Carlos Santana – ‘Smoke On The Water’
Chickenfoot – ‘Highway Star’
Glenn Hughes, Chad Smith and Luis Maldonado – ‘Maybe I’m A Leo’
Black Label Society – ‘Pictures Of Home’
Kings of Chaos (Joe Elliott, Steve Stevens, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Arlan Schierbaum) – ‘Never Before’
The Flaming Lips – ‘Smoke On The Water’
Jimmy Barnes, Joe Bonamassa – ‘Lazy’
Iron Maiden – ‘Space Truckin”
Metallica – ‘When A Blind Man Cries’
Glenn Hughes, Steve Vai, Chad Smith, Lachlan Doley – ‘Highway Star’

This will be available on September 4, 2012 through Classic Rock Magazine as part of a special “fan-pack.”

Monopoly Take on Metallica!

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

If you think sitting around playing board games might be a bit…well…uncool, all that’s about to change!

One of the biggest and best board games Monopoly has just turned up the volume with their latest Metallica edition!

This special edition has been designed with true fans in mind, featuring historic Metallica events and locations around the board such as club shows, festivals, studios, childhood homes and other metal landmarks all up for grabs during your fast-dealing property trading.

Fans will get to choose from a pretty cool selection of game pieces including a Kill ‘Em All hammer, Justice scales, St. Anger fist, Black Album snake, ninja star, and the “Jump in the Fire” demon which you can see in the picture above.

This is by no means the first band or musician to put their name to the game, other bands who have ‘passed go’ include The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, KISS, Elvis and even Grateful Dead.
