Grunge Gods Nirvana will always have a place in our music collections, hearts and clothing range. This stunning Men’s Nirvana T-Shirt features the epic trio themselves that takes us right back to those grungey days of the 90′s that allowed us to carry on the age-old tradition and play music your parents hated. We love the washed faded style print of the classic white crew neck tee. Such a little gem this one.

Now, if prog rock is more your thing we’ve got just the ticket! Released waaaaay back on January 1977, Animals was the 10th album from the prolific band Pink Floyd. A concept album in reaction to the socio-political conditions of the 1970′s it was a marked change in their music style and a real landmark album. Featuring the album artwork of a pig floating between two chimneys on Battersea Power Station, which was was conceived by the band’s bassist and writer Roger Waters, and photographed by long-time collaborators Hipgnosis. What a classic.

Music Mugshots – Rock Stars Behind Bars

Monday, October 1st, 2012

The big bad world of music has always been full of some pretty colourful characters who often find themselves in a some weird and wonderful situations. It does feel that rock stars have always lived the lives we all secretly want, even just a little bit but they always leave us glad we don’t in a lot of ways when things come unstuck.

To help keep you guys on the straight and narrow and keep the temptations and rock star life at bay, check out some of the music mug shots we’ve found and what some of the biggest names in music have been up to in their years.

Ozzy Osbourne: breaking and entering
Believe it or not, famous Black Sabbath madman Ozzy’s only real jail time was done when he was 17 and not yet famous, arrested for stealing clothes from a shop. He was also reportedly sent back a year later for assaulting a police officer.

Mick Jagger & Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) – Drug possession and assault
Both of these Rolling Stones rock heroes have actually been arrested twice! Once for assault and obstruction of police in 1972, the charges were eventually dropped however but Jagger was forced to plead guilty before being released. Earlier in 1967, Jagger and Richards were arrested on drug charges and were given unusually harsh sentences: Jagger was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for possession of four over-the-counter pep pills he had purchased in Italy. On appeal, Richards’ sentence was overturned and Jagger’s was amended to a conditional discharge (he ended up spending one night inside Brixton Prison)

Axl Rose: Multiple arrests for various offenses
Arrested over 20 times on charges such as public intoxication and battery, and served as long as three months in jail. After Lafayette authorities threatened to charge him as a habitual criminal, Guns N’ Roses frontman moved to Los Angeles, California in December 1982.

Jimi Hendrix: Drugs possession
The legendary guitarist was arrested at an airport in 1969 when customs officers found heroin and cannabis in his luggage. Hey, it was the 1960s. We have toothpaste, they had heroin. Still, Jimi Hendrix claimed it wasn’t his, and insisted a fan slipped it into his bag when he wasn’t looking. Hmmm…

Kurt Cobain: Vandalism in 1985, and Trespassing in 1986
Cobain was arrested in 1986 before Nirvana became famous for trespassing while drunk. It was actually the second time he had been arrested – one year before, he was busted for vandalism.

David Bowie: Drugs Possession
Music legend David Bowie was arrested in upstate New York in March 1976 on a felony pot possession charge. The Thin White Duke, 29 at the time, was nabbed along with ex housemate Iggy Pop and two other codefendants at a Rochester hotel following a concert. Bowie was held in the Monroe County jail for a few hours before being released.

Do you think we missed any?? Share some of the stories you’re heard by leaving a cooment below and remember folks….drugs are bad mkay!
